"Kappa Notebook is a surreal, textless comic. Aimed at an adult audience, it tells the story of the encounter between a girl and a kappa (a yokai, a supernatural creature from Japanese folklore). The kappa takes over the girl, but she unwittingly manages to free herself. Deeper still, it explores the ambiguity of desire, which can lead us to places where rules are torn down and rebuilt, where the notion of good and evil can become much more blurred."
